The

Melon from
the West Indies
  Production calendar

With the combination of a unique soil and a climate tempered by the trade winds in these tropical latitudes an exceptional melon can be obtained out of season. The huge popularity of the West Indies as a tourist destination favours daily deliveries by air to Europe in less than 10 hours

The structure of the growers' original association was improved in 1990, to become a Melon Growers' Union for exports from Guadeloupe. In 1998, they formed a Growers' Association (O.P), Caribbean Melon Growers with new members from Martinique.

In Guadeloupe, close synergy with BOYER S.A enabled the Charentais melon to become the first success in diversified production and the third in terms of volume exported

A PCC (Product Conformity Certificate) and PGI (Protected Geographical Identity) for Guadaloupe Melon is currently in the process of recognition.
