The Gard region, in the South East, has the earliest production, on 40 hectares for about 600 metric tons. It is followed in the summer by the South West and the Quercy region. This chalky-clay soil
and its geographical position between the Ocean and the Mediterranean,
where the melon was established in the 1960s, will supply "Philibons"
right until the first frosts of autumn, always of the same regular quality. |

For its part, the
BOYER company assists them, by placing at their disposal 4 technicians
specialised in growing melons, and by gathering part of the crop before
processing in its station.
