BOYER SA currently groups together more than sixty producers for a total volume of 3,000T.

The plum was appreciated back in ancient times in Syrian lands but didn't reach French orchards until the fifteenth century. Now it is one of our traditional garden fruits and brings back memories of our grandmother's good home cooking.

In Southwest France, the plum season begins in July and ends in October, offering a number of varieties with quite different tastes and characteristics. The GOLDEN JAPAN, an early yellow plum, is very refreshing during the summer months. During the mid-season period, you will be able to appreciate the ALLO, VANS, D'OULLINS, DIAPHANE and ROYALE. Then, towards the end of the summer, the generous American and Japanese varieties (BLACKAMBER, FRIAR, ROYAL DIAMOND, ANGELENO) with their purple skins, are there to delight you. Towards the end of the season, enjoy the BAVAY, a large, greeny-yellow skinned plum that keeps well, shortly before the arrival of the oval shaped purple PRESIDENT, which draws the season to a close.   The green REINE CLAUDE (greengage) with its pinkish bloom, remains the spearhead of our region. Its exquisite taste, (to which we give the PHILIBON signature on exceptional batches, as a guarantee of its identity), its fine, firm and juicy flesh bursting with sunshine, and its unmistakable and slightly acid taste make it the queen of the summer months.
It also holds the Label Rouge quality mark.
